This is a short description of the way to migrate a Joomla 1.5 realty website with com-property to Joomla 1.7 or higher with JooProperty:

First of all for sure I recommend you to make a backup of your whole page with Akeeba-Backup f.ex. - download here www.akkeba.com

I made the whole migration with this backup, so create new folder on your server, a new database and recover the whole backup to have a second site.

Install the component JUpgrade in your Joomla 1.5
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...omla-migration/11658

To use JUpgrade you have to enable the plugin "System - Mootools Upgrade"

Run the component - everything easy explained or watch out here: docs.joomla.org/Upgrade_1.5_to_1.7

With JUpgrade you can migrate
  • all articles
  • all categories
  • the menus
  • all users with their rights
  • the image archive

After the migration you will have both Joomla versions in one database so it would be nice to delete all old Joomla 1.5 tables.
For sure you should also change the path of the joomla 1.7 installation.
So the best way is to install again Akeeba Backup, make an backup and install it in your new path.
Then delete all Joomla 1.5 tables in the database using phpMyAdmin.

To migrate the content of com-property you have to install our component JooProperty.
Run "Database Import" from the JooProperty Control Panel.
Please fill out the correct data of your old com-property installation (still your live site) - check out attached image db_import.gif

After the correct database import please refresh the website and you will see at the right side in the Info-Box the amount of data which has been imported.
The images will be moved from images/properties to images/jooproperty.

Please check out the objects and let us know if there are any problems.

Enjoy your new realty website and check out now he possibilities and features you will have with JooProperty.

Kind regards,

joomod
